Leaving Hong Kong to Bangkok was another easy flight.
We landed in Bangkok, and I made it through customs quickly. I left the air-conditioned airport to find a taxi or bus and was immediately hit with a wave of heat. I did not know that every pore I had could generate sweat that fast, but it did. The clothes I was wearing were soaked.
I had looked on Google for a bus to take me to my hotel, and that was difficult to navigate, although I met a gentleman from England who works in tech and when he doesn’t have a contract he just travels. He let me know that the bus was coming. He didn’t know when, but it would. I spoke with him for a while and we talked about recent travels. Just as I was about to give up and call a cab, the bus showed up. 60 baht or $1.61 to get to my hotel. He told me I chose a great location. He was staying in the same block.
Checked into my hotel, which was in a tourist heavy street. It was all hostels, hotels, and guesthouses. Restaurants, marijuana shops, and souvenir shops filled in the rest.
Luckily, there was a beautiful temple right next door, Wat Chana Songkram Rajchaworamahavihan. I visited there and was done for the day. Between the travel and heat, I needed a break.
