This was a long day.
I woke up and got my taxi to Temple 46 – Jōruriji. Founded in 708. It was restored in 812. There is a tree that is over 1000 years old (I don’t know if I took a picture of it).

This was a nice suburban temple. Being a weekend, there were quite a few families visiting.

Walked to Temple 47 – Yasakaji. This one was established in 701. It had the best English information out of all of the temples so far.

There was a secondary temple along the walking route – Monjuin. Had good carvings and statues.

Kept on walking to Temple 48 – Sairinji. It started raining and had to duck under a car port to put on rain pants. This Temple was near Matsuyama, where I was staying. A little on the outskirts. I basically walked the ends of the city for about 10 miles.

Temple 49 – Jōdoji was established around 729 but was destroyed in the 14th century. Jōdo means a pure land where the Buddha lives.

Walked onto Temple 50 – Hantaji. There is a protective deity said to help pass exams, have a prosperous business, and assure good marriage relationships at this Temple.
I met a university student who is studying English and wanted to speak with me for a bit. He was home on spring break.

Kept on walking in the rain to Temple 51 – Ishiteji. This Temple was in the more busy part of the city. There were tour buses stopping, and vendors were set up selling things on the way in. I had seen that before in other temples my last trip, but this is the first one where I saw people other than pilgrims or local worshippers on this trip.

Grabbed a bus back towards my hotel and got some food. I was nauseous all day but did not take zophran. I ate a little, got a headache, and laid down.
