Giving myself an easy day.

I took the train to my first temple today. Temple 18- Onzanji and, looked at how long a bus would take to get me to the next one, and it was quicker walking.

Train and buses went smoothly, so I made it to the temple in decent time even though it was uphill. A nice temple. There was no gate like all the others, or I missed it entirely.

The walk to Temple 19 – Tatsueji wasn’t bad. Mostly flat and through suburb like area. It was in the middle of town with tight one-way roads surrounding it.

Tomorrow is another early day, but a tough one. Another 600 meter mountain to go up and down, but my host is driving me to the base and picking me up at the bottom of the other side.

A couple driving the route stopped to give me green tea candy, and I forgot to mention,  the woman working at Temple 17 gave me a nice bag to hold my candles and incense in. I bought incense from her and she gave the bag as a gift.

Also, this is how I sleep most nights. Thursday, I’ll be in a real bed for a night.
