I took a tuk-tuk down to the Grand Palace, only about 10 minutes from my hotel.
This was one of my worst days on the trip. It was so hot that my phone stopped taking pictures, and I had to shut it down. Luckily, I had a go pro to take some pictures, too.
The Grand Palace was the home of the Kings of Siam and later Thailand from 1782 – 1925. It is still used for some official events throughout the year.
It is also the location of the Temple of the Jade Buddha – Wat Phra Kaew. It has been regarded as the most sacred Temple in Thailand. The statue is decorated 3 different ways to go along with the seasons, summer, rainy, and winter. I was there in the middle of summer, 105 degrees with no clouds.
I found my guide at the entrance of the Grand Palace, and she was great. She offered to take a lot of pictures of me, which I do not have a lot of on this trip.

So, no photography was allowed in the temple, I had to use a zoom on my phone.

This was where my phone decided to go on strike due to weather conditions.
