So, while I was in Korea, I decided to check on flights from Seoul. My credit card points got me down here [Thailand], so a free flight.
I flew on Cathay Pacific. The airline was good, the food was decent, and I liked that there was no boarding in sections, I just lined up in the economy line and was right on.
Korea was ok. I liked Busan. Both Seoul and Busan felt like any other city I have been in, outside of the few tourist areas I went to.
I had a 10-hour layover in Hong Kong, which was brutal. Nothing was open overnight, and they didn’t post where my gate was until 3 hours before my flight. I had to try to stay centrally located because that air port is huge.
They did stop me in Hong Kong from boarding because I had no return flight. As soon as I told them I was taking a bus to Cambodia, they let me right on.

So, technically, I was in China.
