Woke up this morning and walked to the train station to get near the next temple.
Temple 71 – Iyadaniji was uphill 221 meters, but it wasn’t a bad walk. Gyōki founded the temple, and it was called the 8 province Temple because from here, you could see the 8 surrounding provinces. Kūkai visited in 807 and renamed the temple. The temple is attributed with many miracle cures.

Met up with a college professor who I met at a previous stay, and we walked down together to the next temple.

Next, temples 72 and 73 were close to each other. We decided to go to Temple 73 – Shusshakaji, first. It was further uphill, and I felt like walking up once, so the rest was downhill.
According to legend Kūkai, at the age of 7, he climbed the mountain (481 meters) and said I want to enter the world of Buddhism and save many people.
